This is a 300 fps slow motion video of a working model of a new combat robot flipper design I'm working on. It's fully automatic. It activates when pushed against the opponent. This design is simpler and easier to build than previous versions. Also it's more compact. It needs a few refinements before being scaled up to combat size and robustness. The cam shown is just a linear ramp. A later test with an exponential cam worked a lot better.
Here's yet another version of an automatic flipper. This one has no geared speed reduction. An exponential lead screw and flywheel are connected directly to the 8500 rpm motor shaft.
